Typical Problem
In Retail industry, Loss prevention is usually security based and unfocused. Generally, shrinkage is only reported at a total company level, not targeting individual store/merchant/distribution channel accountability, thus leading to ineffective programs in place to detect/deter and control losses. Also, staff training programs are not loss prevention focused and stores have little visibility as to how they are tracking in terms of losses. Item specific deliveries are not utilized for detail checking at store level and, usually, there is no physical inventory reconciliation process.
